VLR Rule Book

Note: All motors must have tagged armatures (except Falcon motors).

VLR Spec Class (tech'd before and after race)

• Champion Turbo-Flex .030 stamped-steel 4" chassis only; no aluminum pans; no bearings
• Full .060 clearance under entire classis with guide flag (measured from tech block)
• Falcon 7 motor only
• 64 pitch gears; 12t pinion gear; 37 or 38t axle gears only
• 3/32" rear axle only
• 5/8" Parma front wheels (part #673 or #70291); wheels must touch and roll
• Rear tire size is .760 min.
• O/S Porsche 935 Turbo or  Red Fox Can-Am style (Ferrari, etc.) bodies only - see Ezzie
• Front wheels must be visible; may leave front wheel wells clear.
• Rear spoiler height is 1-5/8” min.; front bumper 3/8" min.; rear cutout 1/2" below fender
• Body must be painted and have 3 numbers (all the same)
• Complete car weight is 105 grams min.; 110 grams max.

The primary intention of this class is to provide very competitive racing with reliable cars at a minimal cost to the racers.  Before making modifications that are not addressed in the rules, check to verify they will be allowed.  Anything that in the opinion of the technical person that would provide an "unfair" performance advantage will likely NOT be allowed.

Restricted Boxstock

GTP

• stamped-steel 4" chassis; oilites only-no bearings; no mods allowed (except addition of motor brace, lead weight, etc.)
• may use any pitch gear
• min front tire size is .500
• S16C tagged armature only; no air-gap restriction
• front wheels must rotate and be visible (clear front wheel wells are okay)
• ball bearing allowed on can end of motor setup only
• max rear spoiler height is 1-5/8”

4.5" Scale NASCAR

• stamped-steel 4.5" chassis; oilites only-no bearings; no mods allowed (except addition of motor brace, lead weight, etc.)
• may only use 64 or 48 pitch gears
• min front and rear axle diameter is 3/32 inch
• 16D tagged armature only; min air-gap is .575
• min front tire size is .675"
• must have 3d driver (no paper or flat interior)
• min height at roof is 1-7/8" (roof ribs not included)
• front bumper min is 1/4"; rear bumper min is 1/8”
• 3 numbers (all the same)...one on roof and one on each door as on a real NASCAR

4.5" SuperTrucks

• stamped-steel 4.5" chassis; oilites only-no bearings; no mods allowed (except addition of motor brace, lead weight, etc.)
• may only use 64 or 48 pitch gears
• min front and rear axle diameter is 3/32"
• Super Wasp motor only
• ball bearing allowed on can end of motor setup only
• min front tire size is .675"
• must have 3d driver (no paper or flat interior)
• min height at roof is 1-7/8"
• max rear spoiler is 1-1/2"
• front bumper min is 1/4"; tailgate max is 1/2" (measured up from tech block)
• 3 numbers (all the same)...one on roof and one on each door

Falcon Indy

• JK Falcon motor
• any commerially available 4" Indy car chassis; oilites only-no bearings; no mods allowed (except addition of motor brace, lead weight, etc.)
• Indy or Formula-One bodies; no modifications to wings

Falcon GT-1

• JK Falcon motor
• stamped-steel 4" chassis; oilites only-no bearings; no mods allowed (except addition of motor brace, lead weight, etc.)
• no aluminum pans
• GT-1 body must be fully decaled (3 numbers, sponsors, logos, etc.)

Dirt Late Model

• 4.5” Dirt Late Model body. 
• Front wheels must be visible; may leave front wheel wells clear.
• must have 3d driver (no paper or flat interior)
• min height at roof is 1-1/2"; max rear spoiler height is 1-5/8”
• 3 numbers (all the same)...one on roof and one on each door

Group10 Stockcar

• stamped-steel 4" chassis; oilites only-no bearings; no mods allowed (except addition of motor brace, lead weight, etc.)
• 48 pitch gears; 1/8" axles only
• 16D tagged armature; min air-gap .575
• min front tire size is .500
• Any 4" Stockcar or COT body
• Front wheels must be visible; may leave front wheel wells clear.
• must have 3d driver (no paper or flat interior)
• max rear spoiler height is 1-3/4”
• 3 numbers (all the same)...one on roof and one on each door

LMP (LeMans Prototype)

• stamped-steel 4" chassis; oilites only-no bearings; no mods allowed (except addition of motor brace, lead weight, etc.)
• 48 pitch gears; 1/8" axles only
• 16D tagged armature; min air-gap .575
• Min front tire size is .500
• Open cockpit body, such as GT-1 or GTP
• Front wheels must be visible; may leave front wheel wells clear.
• Max rear spoiler height is 1-5/8”
• 3 numbers (all the same)
